Are you a compliant Landlord?

As of  July 2022, the Renting Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) (Wales) Regulations come into place.

Landlords in Wales need to ensure their properties are in line with the new regulations.

In order to ensure compliance with the new regulations, landlords must ensure all rented properties have a minimum of:

-  At least one hard-wired smoke alarm (mains powered) on each level of the home

-  All hard-wired alarms must be interlinked, either via a wireless radio-interlinking system or wired interlinking system

-  A carbon monoxide alarm in any room with a fuel burning appliance (gas, oil or solid fuel)

-  Consider a heat alarm in the kitchen

Dec-Elec are here to assist with your fire safety needs.

Dec-Elec offer Installation of Radio-Linked Smoke Detectors. Using Radio-linked bases and heads minimises lifting of floors and routing cables between new detectors. This means faster installation time, saving labour costs and disruption to carpets, floor and walls.

The Landlord legislation on Smoke Alarms deadline date is fast approaching!

If you are a landlord please get in touch today to find out more.

Rewiring your home
by Dec Elec 31 Jan, 2023
It may be time to rewire your home. Are you buying a property more than 25 years old? It would be important to check that the wiring is up to date before you buy. This will give you an idea of the extent of whether the house needs rewiring and the rewiring cost so that you can factor this into your plans and potentially for negotiations with the vendors. If you already own a property and are looking to undertake some home improvements or a conversion, it is important to know if you have old electrical wiring. Rewiring a house could change the timescale of your plans and can be disruptive to décor. So it is best to complete this early on.
